Ceremonial Turnover of the Daily Bread Funding

The Office of Admission and Aid, in partnership with the Theology Department, formally received a funding contribution from Philippinenhilfe in support of Ateneo de Davao University’s Daily Bread Program. Facilitated through the Community Engagement and Sustainable Development Office (CESDO), the donation serves as an offshoot of the university’s ongoing Duyog Feeding Program.

The ceremony was hosted by Ms. Devi Joy M. Barcena, Scholarship Officer of the Office of Admission and Aid. The program opened with welcoming remarks from Dr. Roawie L. Quimba, Chairperson of the Theology Department. Mr. Mark Paul O. Samante, LPT, Director of CESDO, presented the rationale for the turnover and introduced the background of the benefactor and CESDO’s related projects, followed by a message of gratitude from Dr. Noriel R. Rogon, Daily Bread Program Coordinator.

Words of inspiration were delivered by Mr. Gene Leo A. Jesuro, Director of the Office of Admission and Aid. The program concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Samantha B. Cabrera, Assistant Director of the Office of Admission and Aid.

May this heartfelt contribution sustain the 24-year legacy of the Daily Bread Program, founded in 2002 by Fr. Robert “Bob” C. Hogan, SJ, and continue to nourish scholars as they pursue their academic dreams, embodying the University’s mission of holistic care and support.
