Orientation For All Security Agencies on the New Procedures and Protocols at the Gates

Following the approval by the University President of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on Gate Inspections, the Office of the Vice President for Administration issued instructions on 29 September 2026 to concerned campus administrators to review the SOP and conduct orientations for security personnel. The orientations were intended to ensure a common understanding and consistent implementation of gate inspection procedures across the University’s campuses.

At the Senior High School, Bangkal Campus, the orientation was conducted on 6 October 2026, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the SHS AVR, under the supervision of Mr. Eric P. Ballesteros, Assistant Principal for Administration. Security personnel were briefed on

the provisions and procedures of the approved SOP. Photographs documenting the activity were subsequently submitted to the Office of the Vice President for Administration. At the Matina Campus, a separate orientation was conducted on 6 October 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Grade School Conference Room. The session was facilitated by

Engr. Teddy Recomes, together with the Assistant Principals for Administration of the Grade School and Junior High School. The orientation covered the application of the SOP to the Matina Campus and the responsibilities of security personnel in implementing gate inspection procedures.

For the Jacinto Campus, the orientation for security guards was conducted on 7 October 2026 at 2:00 PM. During the discussion, several operational concerns were raised that may require further clarification and uniform guidance. These included

procedures governing the entry of part-time faculty members, implementation of the University’s restrictions concerning single-use plastics, and enforcement of the requirement on the wearing and presentation of University identification cards.

The completion of these orientations represents an important initial step in the University-wide implementation of the SOP on Gate Inspections. The sessions also provided an opportunity to identify practical concerns encountered by security personnel in applying the policy at the gates.

Moving forward, the Office of the Vice President for Administration will continue to monitor implementation, consolidate operational questions and feedback from the different campuses, and issue appropriate clarifications where necessary. Particular attention will be given to ensuring that gate inspection procedures are applied consistently while taking into account campus-specific operational requirements.

Status as of 7 October 2026: Gate Inspection SOP orientations completed for the Senior High School (Bangkal), Grade School and Junior High School (Matina), and Higher Education (Jacinto campus).
