Lumanag Ranks 9th Nationwide, ADDU Posts 97.37% Pass Rate in Sept 2026 PMLE

Ateneo de Davao School of Arts and Sciences (SAS), through its Department of Psychology, posted a 97.37% passing rate in the September 2026 Psychometricians Licensure Examination (PMLE), according to official results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
The figure is significantly higher than the national passing rate of 91.72%, based on the PRC’s tally of 14,146 out of 15,423 examinees who passed nationwide. The university produced 74 new Registered Psychometricians in this batch, including a national topnotcher.
Lumanag leads University’s batch of RPms
Mr. Niño Benedict Lumanag, RPm, placed 9th nationwide in the September 2026 PMLE, leading the university’s batch of new Registered Psychometricians.
The September 2026 PMLE was originally scheduled for the 19th and 20th of August 2026, but was postponed to the first week of September due to weather disturbances brought by the Southwest Monsoon, in line with a National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council recommendation amid heavy rainfall warnings.
The rescheduled exam was conducted on the 1st and 2nd of September 2026, in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Palawan, Rosales, and Tuguegarao. Results were released on 23 September 2026, three working days after the last day of the examination, with the result of one examinee withheld pending final determination of liabilities under licensure examination rules.

The results come under the leadership of SAS Dean Dr. Nelly Z. Limbadan, RPsy, RPm, CSCLP; Social Sciences (SS) Cluster Assistant Dean Dr. Jerome A. Serrano; Department of Psychology Chairperson Dr. Analyn O. Leysa, RPsy, RPm, LPT; and the Psychology faculty, staff, and students who supported the review and examination period.

ADDU Receives DOST-PCIEERD Support Under P136-M IMPACT NXT Program

Ateneo de Davao University is among the 25 higher education institutions (HEIs) nationwide to receive support from the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) under its IP Management for Academic and Research Institutions Commercializing Technologies (IMPACT) NXT Program.
The nationwide program carries a total investment of P136 million and is designed to strengthen participating universities’ technology transfer and intellectual property (IP) management capacities. For Ateneo de Davao, this means an 18-month push to improve how the University protects, manages, and eventually commercializes research and technologies developed on campus, with the goal of moving research outputs closer to real-world products, services, and enterprises.
About IMPACT NXT
IMPACT NXT is a nationwide DOST-PCIEERD initiative that helps HEIs and research institutions build or strengthen the systems needed to protect and commercialize the technologies they produce. The program also invests directly in people, providing capability-building for technology transfer officers on IP protection, technology valuation, marketing, licensing, and commercialization, which are the skills often needed to move a research finding from a laboratory or classroom into a usable product or service.
HEIs are further supported in assessing their existing research outputs to determine technologies that have the strongest potential for commercialization, and in disclosing and protecting qualifying inventions through appropriate IP mechanisms.
DOST-PCIEERD has positioned the program as part of a broader push to help publicly funded research translate into economic growth, industry competitiveness, and national development, with HEIs like Ateneo de Davao University expected to become more active contributors to the country’s innovation ecosystem.
What is next for Ateneo de Davao
Over the next 18 months, Ateneo de Davao will work through these program components to move its research outputs closer to real-world application, with the aim of turning university-generated technologies into products, services, and partnerships that benefit both industry and the broader community.

Bueza Places 4th in 2026 PSLE, ADDU Achieves 93.33% Passing Rate

Ateneo de Davao University’s School of Arts and Sciences (SAS), through its Psychology Department, posted a 93.33% passing rate in the September 2026 Psychologist Licensure Examination (PLE), well above the national passing rate of 87.50% reported by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). The exam produced 14 new Registered Psychologists from the university, including a nationwide topnotcher.
Bueza leads University’s batch of new RPsys
Mrs. Yashina Monika Cabiles Bueza, RPsy, placed 4th nationwide with a rating of 90.05%, leading the university’s batch of new licensees.
The full list of new Registered Psychologists (RPsy) from ADDU includes Precious Faye Pascua Adegue, Genevieve Redido Almondia, Bueza, Jessica Ty Bulacan, Jinkee Bungaos Capote, Beryl Anne Bitayo Daquipa, Jeel Christine Canoy De Egurrola, Sheryl Caermare Jaque, Fatima Jennae Bogate Jereza, Mark Anthony Sanglitan Lumibao, Mark Briol Miscala, Roberto Ocampo Soriano, Lyndle Kevin Curato Sorronda, and Catherine Untalan Vital.
The examination, originally scheduled for 19-20 August 2026, was moved to 1-2 September 2026 after the PRC rescheduled it amid heavy rainfall from the Southwest Monsoon, following a recommendation from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
The PRC has yet to announce the date and venue for the mass oath-taking of the new Psychologists and Psychometricians from this batch. The schedule is typically released a few weeks after results as a “Face-to-Face Oathtaking” advisory on the PRC website.

ADDU Honors Edjop Through Film Screening, Conversation, and Candlelighting

Ateneo de Davao University commemorated the life and legacy of Edgar “Edjop” Jopson through a two-part program on 18 and 21 September 2026, combining a student screening of EDJOP: The Movie with a campus conversation and a candlelighting ceremony for those who stood for democracy and human rights during Martial Law.
Bringing Edjop to the new generation
On 18 September, Ateneans watched EDJOP: The Movie in a student block screening across three cinemas at SM City Davao, days after the film’s nationwide release. The film chronicles the life of Jopson, the student activist who rose to national prominence in the years leading up to and during the Marcos regime. He was killed in 1982 in a military encounter along Skyline in Davao City, where he had gone underground.
The program introduced his story to a new generation of Ateneans, highlighting his ties to Davao and Mindanao, which shaped his analysis of the region’s socio-political conditions. Discussions centered on courage, leadership, and social responsibility, and on a guiding question: what kind of leaders are we being called to become in our own time?
Rather than a standard film screening, the program was framed as a formative experience that led participants through the film, a recounting of history, personal reflection, the Examen, and a call to commitment. The approach draws on the University’s mission of forming students as persons for and with others: leaders who are historically conscious, socially engaged, discerning, and responsive to the realities of their communities.
More than a film event
In an interactive dialogue held at Arrupe Hall and the Bapa Benny Tudtud Auditorium, participants reflected on how Jopson’s story moved or disturbed them, what courage means today, where injustice persists in their communities, and what responsibility they hold beyond themselves.
The program subsequently culminated in a candlelighting ceremony held at the Sunken Garden in time with the anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law. Students paused to remember Jopson and all who stood for democracy and human rights during that period, and renewed their commitment to social justice and responsible citizenship.
The University hopes that the experience will continue to inspire Ateneans to become persons for and with others, carrying forward Jopson’s courage in the service of truth, justice, and the common good.

ADDU SON Triumphs with 4 Topnotchers in 2026 NLE

Four graduates of the Ateneo de Davao School of Nursing placed among the country’s top examinees in the Ateneo de Davao NLE 2026, formally known as the August-September 2026 Nurses Licensure Examination (NLE), as the university achieved a 96.15% passing rate, nearly 20 percentage points above the national average.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the results on the 18th of September 2026, showing that 28,652 of 37,359 examinees passed nationwide, for a 76.69% passing rate.

ADDU produced 125 new registered nurses in the Ateneo de Davao NLE 2026, four of whom ranked among the exam’s top ten nationwide: Clifford Jay Cafe placed 2nd with a rating of 92.00%, Jad Lara Baid ranked 7th with 91.00%, John Loyd Castillo placed 8th with 90.80%, and Alynah Gabriele Alicaway rounded out the university’s topnotchers at 10th place with 90.40%. This marks another strong milestone for the School of Nursing, which has consistently placed graduates among national topnotchers in recent licensure cycles.
Examination schedule
The NLEs were administered on 29-30 August and 10-12 September at PRC testing centers nationwide, including Davao, Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Calapan, Cebu, and Iloilo. The later September dates were added for examinees from Region III after the PRC canceled the original schedule in San Fernando, Pampanga, and Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, due to regionwide flooding.
The PRC Board of Nursing released results five working days after testing concluded. Details of its oath-taking ceremony will be released soon by the PRC.
SON leadership
The University expressed its thanks to the leadership of the School of Nursing Dean, Dr. Liza G. Floresca, RN, MAN, as well as the sustained efforts of the nursing faculty, staff, and students throughout the review period and preparations. The results reflect the continued strength of the School of Nursing’s academic and clinical training programs, which have prepared generations of graduates for licensure and professional practice across the region.
