Foreign Dignitaries Pay Courtesy Visit to AdDU

Ateneo de Davao University had the honor of welcoming members of the international diplomatic and consular corps alongside the core conveners on the 2nd of July 2026. Representing the academe, peace advocacy groups, women, civil society, and government partners, the core convener group is prominently composed of diverse Bangsamoro leaders dedicated to regional and national development.

The visiting dignitaries included H.E. Emma Hickey, Ambassador of the Embassy of Ireland to the Philippines; Ms. Livia Meisser, Chargée d’affaires of the Embassy of Switzerland to the Philippines; Mr. Junya Inoue, Deputy Consul-General of Japan; and Mr. Tobit Bravo, Political Officer of the Embassy of Ireland to the Philippines.

Collaborating closely during the visit were the core conveners: Mr. Guiamel Alim; Ms. Yasmin Busran-Lao, Chair of Al Mujadilah Women’s Association (AMWA); Ms. Teresita Quintos-Deles, Founder of the International Center of Innovation, Transformation and Excellence in Governance Inc. (INCITEGOV); Mr. Gus Miclat, Executive Director of Initiatives for International Dialogue (IID); Ms. Jones Janelle Estocapio; and Mr. Winston Aylmer Camariñas, Cotabato Field Office Head of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Our visiting guests were greeted by Fr. Karel San Juan, SJ, University President; Mr. Jeremy “Bong” Eliab, Vice President for Administration; Fr. Antonio M. Basilio, SJ, Vice President for Research Innovations, and Community Engagement; Mr. Mark Paul O. Samante, LPT, Director of Community Engagement and Sustainable Development Office (CESDO); and Atty. Romeo Cabarde Jr., Assistant to the President for Advocacy and Legal Affairs.

Key stakeholders exchanged valuable perspectives regarding academic, regional, and national affairs, establishing strong institutional goodwill and fortifying international ties for sustained peacebuilding and regional cooperation.
