Appointment of Ms. Xenia G. Gonzaga as AdDU Grade School Principal

The AdDU community welcomes the appointment of Ms. Xenia G. Gonzaga as Grade School Principal, effective from 1 May 2026 to 30 April 2029.

Ms. Gonzaga brings to this role nearly three decades of dedicated service in the Ateneo de Davao University Grade School. She has served as Grade Level Head and, most recently, as Assistant Principal for Formation. Her background in education and theology, together with her leadership in holistic formation, Ignatian spirituality, faculty development, and accreditation initiatives, reflects a sustained commitment to Jesuit Basic Education and mission-centered leadership. Her familiarity with the culture, systems, and aspirations of the Grade School community positions her to guide the unit with continuity and clarity of purpose.

This appointment was approved by the Board of Trustees at its Regular Meeting on 14 February 2026, as formalized by Board Resolution No. 2026-011.

The Board likewise expresses its profound gratitude to Dr. Annierose V. Villarba, Grade School

Headmaster from 2023 to 2026, for her many years of distinguished leadership and service to the Ateneo de Davao University Grade School as she enters retirement. Dr. Villarba’s tenure has been marked by steady stewardship of academic excellence, deep commitment to Ignatian formation, and attentive care for students, faculty, and non-teaching personnel. Her leadership strengthened institutional systems, nurtured collaboration, and sustained the mission of Jesuit Basic Education.

The University also extends its gratitude to the members of the Terna Search Committee for the Grade School Principalship for their discernment and service: Fr. Patrick Dominador Z. Falguera, SJ, who served as Chair of the Committee; Ms. Ivy M. Cardoza; Ms. Elvie R. Ayon; Ms. Glynes Jean V. Ibañez; Ms. Maria Nelfa Bermudez; Ms. Christene M. Valencia; Ms. Arlene D. Golloso; and Ms. Jocelyn R. Consolacion.

The AdDU thanks her for her generous and faithful service and wishes her continued fulfillment in this new chapter.
