ADDU SEA Explores AI Research and Graduate Study Partnerships During Taiwan Visit

The Ateneo de Davao University School of Engineering and Architecture conducted an academic and research visit to Taiwan from 3-5 August 2026, represented by Engr. Edu Daryl C. Maceren, PhD.

The visit included discussions with Prof. Chun-Yao Lee of the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) and Dr. Le Truong An of Thu Dau Mot University (TDMU). Talks centered on expanding international research collaboration, graduate education opportunities, and a proposed multi-institution project on AI-based motor fault diagnosis.

The proposed project would combine the research capabilities of AdDU and Prof. Lee’s laboratory, with LAD-Training and Certification Inc. (LAD-TCI) as a possible industry partner. The parties also explored joint research, co-supervision of graduate students, scholarships, international publications, and technologies for industry use.

The delegation also toured NTUST and took part in academic and fellowship activities with faculty, researchers, and graduate students. Subsequently, this visit strengthened its international research network and opened new paths for graduate education, research, and industry engagement.
