About AWS User Group Davao

AWS User Group Davao is a volunteer-run community of cloud builders in Davao. The group brings people together through meetups, hands-on workshops, certification study activities, and other opportunities to learn and grow in cloud technology.

It is part of the global network of AWS user groups and works alongside AWS User Group Philippines, which organizes the annual AWS Community Day in Davao. Community Days are community-led conferences where local practitioners plan and deliver the technical talks, workshops, and hands-on labs, giving developers a peer-to-peer way to learn about cloud technology.

What the partnership means for CS students and faculty

The partnership supports the Computer Studies (CS) cluster’s vision of igniting faculty, staff, and students toward engagement and collaboration with the IT industry and the developer community. Through the agreement, the University aims to give students and faculty more opportunities to learn from practitioners, experience current technologies, participate in real projects, explore certifications, and build professional networks.

Both parties look forward to collaborating in areas such as academic enrichment, industry engagement, student and faculty development, mentoring, projects, and certifications that can strengthen the University’s programs and learning outcomes.

The Computer Studies cluster emphasized that the signing is not simply about conducting one event but the start of a continuing partnership.
