Office of Student Affairs

What OSA Does

The Office of Student Affairs (OSA), Higher Education Unit, supports the Ateneo de Davao University’s mission as a Christian, Catholic, Ignatian, and Jesuit institution by forming students who are fortes in fide—strong in faith, service, leadership, and character.

The office is behind nearly everything that makes student life work outside the classroom. OSA provides programs and services that promote leadership, student welfare, discipline, and the culture and arts. Delving deeper into the student life, the office accredits student organizations, supports their activities and events, safeguards student welfare, and administers the policies that ensure fair campus life for everyone. Through these initiatives, OSA seeks to create a safe, engaging, and transformative student experience that complements academic formation.

Whatever your concern as a student, OSA is very often where the path starts, and if it isn’t the right office, they will point you to the one that is.

OSA Programs

Student Activities

The Student Activities Program develops student leaders and supports student organizations by providing guidance, oversight, and opportunities for leadership formation. OSA also facilitates the approval and monitoring of non-academic student activities, ensuring that they remain aligned with the University’s mission and policies.

Student Welfare and Services

The Student Welfare and Services Program promotes the well-being, safety, and holistic development of students by providing support services, student assistance programs, and initiatives that enhance campus life.

Culture and Arts

OSA nurtures student creativity and artistic excellence through the Ateneo Culture and Arts Cluster (ACAC), the coordinating council of all culture- and arts-based organizations in the Higher Education Unit. Through this program, students are given opportunities to develop their talents, celebrate culture, and represent the University in various artistic platforms.

Services Offered

  • Lost and Found. OSA maintains a lost and found service for items misplaced on campus, regularly posting lists of unclaimed items and encouraging students to label their belongings; found items can be claimed at the OSA office, currently located at the Mezzanine Floor of Arrupe Hall.
  • Good Moral Certificate. OSA issues Certificates of Good Moral Character, a standard document required for enrollment, transfer to another school, employment, or scholarship applications, attesting to a student’s conduct record while at the University.
  • RFID Processing. OSA handles the issuance of the official Ateneo ID (RFID), including photo capture and signature during enrollment and the release of the printed ID; students report lost or damaged RFIDs to OSA for replacement.
  • Honorable Dismissal Clearance. For students transferring out of the University, OSA is part of the clearance process required before an Honorable Dismissal — the document certifying that a student has no pending obligations and left the University in good standing — can be released, typically alongside the Registrar’s Office.
  • Student Conduct and Discipline. OSA implements the disciplinary provisions of the Student Handbook, receiving reports of policy violations (including referrals from other offices such as the Library), conducting the corresponding process, and recording violations, which students can now also track through the university’s MyAdDU app.
  • Student Assistant Applications. OSA facilitates the application and contract-signing process for the Student Assistant Program, coordinating with the offices requesting assistants, the Scholarship Program coordinator who interviews and recommends applicants, and monitoring academic performance for contract renewal each term.
