Mindanao is not a problem to be solved; it is a home of many peoples and a future being built. To serve its peace and development is written into the University’s mission.
The University contributes to peace in Mindanao through education, dialogue, and presence: programs and scholarship on Islamic studies and interreligious dialogue, support for the Bangsamoro peace process and governance, partnerships with Indigenous Peoples’ communities, and the daily witness of a campus where students of every faith study side by side.
Peace and development are one project. The University’s research, community engagement, and graduate formation are aimed at a Mindanao that is economically self-sustaining and socially just: strong local governance, thriving agriculture and enterprise, resilient communities, and opportunity that reaches the margins first.
The University does not study Mindanao from a distance. It is Mindanao, choosing its future.
