Appointment of Mr. Gene Jesuro and Ms. Samantha Cabrera to the College Admission and Aid Leadership

With the recommendation of the Vice President for Higher Education, Fr. Antonio M. Basilio, SJ, the Ateneo community welcomes Mr. Gene Leo A. Jesuro as the newly appointed Director of the College Admission and Aid Office and Ms. Samantha Ann Marie B. Cabrera as Assistant Director, effective from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029.

On the Appointment and Scope of Responsibilities of Mr. Gene Leo Jesuro

Mr. Jesuro is a full-time Assistant Professor in the Finance Program of the School of Business and Governance. He has taken on key formation and administrative roles in the University, including serving as Program Development Officer of the Ignatian Spirituality and Formation Office and as Coordinator of the Office of Learner Activities in the Senior High School Unit. He currently leads the Technical Working Group for Commitment 7 of the Fortiores 2030 Strategic Plan, where he supports strategic, synodal, and spiritual processes, and contributes to institutional governance through various university committees.

As Director, he will provide strategic leadership and overall management of the College Admission and Aid Office. He will oversee student recruitment, admissions, and financial aid systems for new, transfer, and international students; guide policy development and program implementation; coordinate with academic and administrative units; and strengthen partnerships with external stakeholders. He will also manage office operations, reporting, and evaluation to support efficient, fair, and mission-aligned admissions and enrollment management.

On the Appointment and Scope of Responsibilities of Ms. Samantha Ann Marie Cabrera

Ms. Cabrera has experience in recruitment and admissions processes, particularly in guiding prospective students through the enrollment journey. She served as Administrative Associate in the College Admission and Aid Office, where she supported the planning and implementation of recruitment initiatives, managed communications with applicants, and developed promotional efforts to engage prospective students. She also assisted in organizing recruitment activities, coordinating with academic units and partner schools, and supporting data-informed strategies to strengthen enrollment outcomes.

As Assistant Director, she will support the planning, implementation, and supervision of recruitment, admissions, and financial aid operations. She will assist in coordinating with academic and administrative units, managing application processes and documentation, organizing testing and interview activities, and supporting outreach and partnership initiatives. She will also contribute to reporting, data management, and continuous improvement of office operations, while ensuring efficient and timely delivery of services to prospective students.

The AdDU community expresses its gratitude to Ms. Tracy M. Villanueva for her service as outgoing Director of the College Admission and Aid Office, especially for her efforts in strengthening student recruitment and expanding the university’s reach to prospective students.
