ADDU Leads Mindanao Private Universities in AppliedEdu 2027

Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) leads private universities in Mindanao in the 4th edition of the AppliedEdu Private University Ranking: ASEAN 2027.

The University also ranked first in Davao City, 16th in the Philippines, and 72nd in Southeast Asia.

The ranking assesses private universities across the ASEAN region on six areas: teaching and learning, employability, research, community engagement, internationalization, and institutional reputation. Results draw on data submitted by each institution, together with surveys on student satisfaction and skills formation.

AppliedEdu published the 2027 results on the 21st of October 2026, with 155 private institutions from six Southeast Asian countries taking part, up from 122 in the previous edition. Teaching and learning is the heaviest component, making up two-fifths of an institution’s assessment, and an independent advisory board oversees a ranking that dates back to 2021.

A consistent top standing

The result builds on the University’s standing at the top of the region. The Singapore-based education technology company behind the ranking, founded in 2020, was formerly known as AppliedHE and now operates as AppliedEdu.

Under its earlier name, it ranked ADDU No. 1 in Davao and Mindanao and 16th nationwide in the AppliedHE Private University Rankings: All Asia 2026, an improvement on the University’s earlier placement as No. 1 in Southern Philippines in the ASEAN 2025 edition.

The University credits the recognition to its steady commitment to formation, excellence, and service. It also acknowledges the dedication of its students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, and partners, who together carry out the Ateneo mission in the classroom and in the community.
