International Studies

International Studies is the interdisciplinary study of international affairs, particularly inter-state relations. It is founded on the theoretical tools of history, political science, sociology, and economics. It also seeks to develop a deeper understanding of culture through area studies and foreign languages. The Ateneo International Studies Department has been offering two area specialization: American Studies and Asian Studies. The department wishes to prepare students for international career opportunities particularly in Foreign Service, international organizations, NGOs, policy and think-tank institutions, the academe or graduate studies.
