Important Reminders
1
This year’s Commencement Exercises shall be the first-ever Graduation Ceremony that will be done virtually. All graduation activities shall be Live-Streamed via FB through the Ateneo de Davao University Official Page.
2
The Baccalaureate Mass will be held at the University Chapel of Our Lady of the Assumption. The presider and homilist of this Thanksgiving Mass will be no less than The Rev. Fr. Joel E. Tabora, S.J., University President.
3
Since the Baccalaureate Mass will be celebrated in the University Chapel, it will be participated in by very few representatives from various classes/sections that will be carefully selected by the Samahan Central Board. The rest of the graduates will be attending through FB Live. HEALTH PROTOCOLS WILL STILL BE STRICTLY OBSERVED. IN THE EVENT THAT THERE WILL BE A SURGE IN THE NUMBER OF COVID CASES IN THE LOCALITY, THE GRADUATION COMMITTEE WILL RECOMMEND TO THE UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION THE CANCELLATION OF THE FACE-TO-FACE COMPONENT OF THE MASS AND WILL JUST CONTINUE WITH THE LIVE STREAMING.
4
During the Virtual Graduation Ceremony, all graduates, together with their parents or significant others are encouraged to attend virtually. The iCOMMP will send a ZOOM Link through the official AdDU emails of the students the day before the said event. For Graduates of Class 2020, your official AdDU email will be re-activated for this purpose. We would like to remind you not to share the ZOOM Link to anyone to avoid “outsiders” that may disrupt this solemn virtual occasion. Disruption of school activities is considered to be as Grave Offense according to the 32.2 of the Student’s Handbook.
5
Even if we are having this virtually, everyone is encouraged to dress appropriately, especially if you will decide to turn-on your cameras. We would like to enjoin everyone to help maintain the solemnity and formality of the occasion to make this event a special and memorable one.
6
All administrators, faculty members, and staff who will decide to join the virtual ceremony via Zoom are also encouraged to dress appropriately, especially if you will decide to turn-on your cameras. They have also the option to watch its simultaneous live streaming thru the University’s Official Facebook Page.
7
During the portion akin to the “awarding of diplomas”, the name of each graduate will be called. The graduate’s photo (in his/her respective academic gown) from Kalasag, will appear on the screen. This will be the perfect opportunity for the graduates and/or his/her family members to take photos of the graduates from their respective screens/monitors at home.
8
The school will provide two simple yet elegant “Graduation Platforms” at the Rodriguez Hall for those who wish to have their graduation pictures taken together with their parents or significant others. The platforms will be available for two months starting April 19, 2021. Please secure your own toga if you desire to have your picture taken in your academic gown.
9
All graduates will receive two hard copies of the Graduation Souvenir Program and a USB Card containing the video file of the entire Graduation Ceremony. For those who are recipients of academic and non-academic/special awards, you will receive your medal/s as well.
