Last night, on the 10th of December, the Ateneo de Davao Community commemorated the season with an annual ritual of Lighting the Christmas Lights at the Laudato Si’ Sunken Garden.
The ceremony started with opening remarks by Ms. Hannah O. Aquino, President of the Samahan Central Board. Followed by the prayer led by Fr. Cenzon, SJ. Rev. Fr. Antonio Basilio, SJ, Vice President for Higher Education shared a gospel reading and a brief moment of reflection, after which, five representatives from AdDU pressed the button to light up the Christmas lights.
With the theme, “Pasasalamat at Pag-Asa: Liwanag sa Kalangitan, Sa Amin Manahan Ka” the representatives from AdDU each lit up a candle with a prayer for light, prayer for Ateneo University Community, prayer for Mindanao, prayer for Philippines, and a prayer for the World.
