On August 8, 2025, Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) convened faculty, staff, and student leaders for a thought-provoking session on “The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Role of Jesuit Universities.” The discussion examined how the Jesuit mission intersects with the United Nations’ 17 SDGs, and how these global goals can be integrated into the local context of Mindanao.

These efforts were mapped onto the 5 Ps framework — People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership — highlighting how AdDU’s work resonates with both the local and global development agenda.

The session challenged the Ateneo community to:

  • Audit SDG-aligned Programs
  • Foster Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration
  • Build Partnerships Locally and Globally
  • Live the Mission by “Walking the Talk”

As AdDU continues to embody Fortiores in Fide in its pursuit of academic excellence, the university affirms its commitment to be a catalyst for sustainable, inclusive, and transformative change — in Davao, Mindanao, and the Philippines.
