The Ateneo de Davao University School of Nursing (ADDU SON) was honored to be the Philippines’ representative during the Asian Standardized Patient Educator Collaborative (AsiaSPEC) International Conference which took place at the Kinjo Gakuin University in Nagoya, Japan, from 25-27 April 2025.

This conference brought together leading educators and institutions across Asia committed to advancing simulation-based learning in health professions education. Participating in the conference was ADDU’s SON Dean- Dr. Liza G. Floresca, and members of the faculty, Dinna Rose Bayog – the Level 1 and 2 Head, and Mary Hazel Facundo.

The conference centered on the use of Standardized Patients (SPs)—trained individuals who simulate real-life clinical scenarios—to enhance nursing students’ competencies in clinical reasoning, communication, and care planning within a safe and structured learning environment. Through this participation, the AdDU – School of Nursing reaffirms its commitment to global best practices and to preparing future nurses with the skills needed for compassionate, competent, and patient-centered care.
