PIGLASAPAT, AdDU’s premier socio-political and leadership organization, held yet another successful youth-led summit this Feb 23, 2024. With Layag Pilipinas’s 3rd year focusing on empowering the voices of the youth, up to 100 student leaders from all over Mindanao and beyond joined the summit.

For Day 1 of the summit, several notable speakers were invited to share their messages, including Commissioner Alexa Dayanghirang of the National Youth Commission Asec., Senator Risa Hontiveros, Mx. Sittie Aisah Balt, Social Entrepreneur, as well as Fr. Karel San Juan, University President.

Continuing the spark of activity from yesterday, Day 2 of Layag Pilipinas Year 3 starts off with a simultaneous break out session among the participating youth leaders.

Following that, are messages from the Day 2 key speakers namely, Mx. Jamela Alindogan, Al Jazeera journalist and Founder of Sinagtala Center for Women and Children in Conflict, Mx. Samira Gutoc, Civic leader as well as a Women and IDP rights advocate, Atty. Rachel Herrera, renowned lawyer and environmental enthusiast, and Atty. Jose Manuel “Chel” Diokno.

The summit was organized in partnership with the Ateneo Internationalization for Mindanao Office (AIM Office), University Community Engagement and Advocacy Council (UCEAC) and the Samahan ng Mga Mag-Aaral ng Pamantasang Ateneo de Davao (SAMAHAN).
