The Philippine Association of Academic and Research Librarians (PAARL) recently awarded the Ateneo de Davao University as the Outstanding Academic/Research Library for 2021. This award affirms the University Library’s commitment to research and academic support as well as the ADDU’s tradition of excellence and service. The ceremony was held on 22 January 2022 via Zoom.

“Our Library was nominated based on services provided to the ADDU community; outreach programs with partners from the public and private sectors; local and international collaborations, networks, and linkages; and continuous improvement of the library building and facilities,”

Initiated in 2000 by then-President Fe Angela M. Verzosa, the Academic/Research Library of the Year Award is given in recognition of an academic or research library’s outstanding national contribution to the academic or research community. It comes with a cash award of Php 10,000.

The PAARL is an association of academic and research librarians in the Philippines that upholds the profession of academic and research librarianship in the country. Its principal mission is to articulate the concerns of academic and research librarians and their institutions and to inFluence information policy development affecting the future of academic and research libraries. Since 1973, it has provided leadership in the development and growth of library and information services in the country. The PAARL office is located at the National Library of the Philippines at TM Kalaw Street, Ermita, Manila.
