Ms. Ayessa Velasquez, Director of College Admissions and Ateneo de Davao Academy of Lifelong Learning (ADD- ALL) was invited to be one of the panelists at the 17th APEC Future Education Forum and the 19th International ALCoB Conference on September 30 – October 03, 2021.
The forum and conference, with the theme, “Strengthening lifelong competencies and skills development for individuals’ career, education, training, and life cycles,” was held at the Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel in Korea and virtually.
APEC Future Education Forum (AEFF) is one of the largest annual international education forums in the APEC region and was hosted by the Ministry of Education in Korea and organized by the Institute of APEC Collaborative Education.
AFEF is attended by government officials, experts, entrepreneurs, teachers, and others from international organizations. It is a forum where discussion on international education collaboration, directions, and visions for future education is held to establish mutual prosperity in the APEC region.
With one keynote speaker, six presenters, 3 moderators, and 6 panelists, Ms. Velasquez is one of the panelists.
As an ADD-ALL Director, she develops programs and policies for the academy, implements comprehensive business plans, maintains relationships among shareholders, business partners, and authorities, and develops ways to generate more income for the organization.
She also serves as a Recruitment Officer for the Madaris Volunteer Program in Ateneo de Davao University, wherein she sources and recruits volunteers to teach DepEd mandated subjects in the Bangsamoro. She also acts as a Communications Consultant in the Institutional Communications and Promotions office of the same university since June of 2015. Her work as a communications consultant involves developing and executing public relations campaigns, training staff on press releases and ideas pitching, and maintaining a good relationship between the media and the University. She also practiced as a full-time faculty at her alma mater in the Department of Communication for three years (2015-2018).
She also participated as a speaker and represented the Philippines as a delegate in various training, workshops, and summits like the “2nd Capacity Building Workshop on developing Educational System in a Lifelong Learning Perspective” in Shanghai, China in 2019 (Delegate), “2019 CEAP- NHEC Summit” in Cebu (Speaker) and “Meeting the Emerging Needs of Adult learning Professionals” in Toronto last 2018 (Philippine Delegate).
