Re: Suspension of Classes Due to the Corona Virus Disease
Mayor Sara Duterte issued Davao City Government Guideline No 7 for Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) today at 5:38 p.m.
The second point of these guidelines is: “All schools from kindergarten to post-graduate studies must cancel classes and immediately and immediately shift to online sessions and take-home assignments. All recognition and graduation ceremonies should be postponed until after the public health emergency is lifted.”
We have already postponed our graduation ceremonies.
We now cancel classes effective Friday, March 13. Students and learners, however, are enjoined to watch for official announcements.
Faculty and staff shall continue to report for work until further notice.
Tomorrow, the AVP will hold an emergency meeting for Higher Education Academic Administrators and Basic Education Heads at the Workroom of the AVP at 9:30 am to address issues arising from the cancellation of classes, including the final exams of students, the completion of requirements for this semester, alternative computation of grades, and summer classes.
Official policies arising from this and other administrative meetings will be published officially on the ADDU Webpage and through our official accounts on Facebook and Twitter.
I urge all in our community to remain calm. Let us help each other to end this semester well and successfully, but above all, let us cooperate with our government officials in keeping us all safe. With this memo, I am attaching Mayor Sara’s Guidelines #7.
