Ateneo de Davao University Faculty member of the International Studies Department attended the Annual Conference of the Association of Asian Studies (AAS) in Toronto, Canada.

Dr. Anderson V. Villa, an associate professor of International Studies Department was a recipient of Japan Foundation Travel Support for Attendees to the 2017 Association for Asian Studies (AAS) Annual Conference conducted last March 16-19 at the Sheraton Centre Toronto, Canada.

The AAS is a scholarly, non-political, non-profit professional association open to all persons interested in Asia and the study of Asia. The annual conference is a platform to gather over 3,000 researchers, academicians, graduate and post-graduate students, and faculty members all over the world who share their research undertaking on China and Inner Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Korea, Japan, Inter-area Border Crossing, and Migration Studies.

Through the auspices of Japan Foundation, Dr. Villa represented the Philippines together with other scholars from the country and the rest of Asia. He also represented the Al Qalam Institute as the Editor-in-Chief of its journal, IQRA and as the point person of the Migration and Diaspora Studies of the Center for Politics and International Affairs.
