The Business Management and Human Resource Management students of Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) participated in the 15th National Youth Convention (NYC) organized by the Junior People Management Association of the Philippines (JPMAP) with the theme “Future People Managers: Developing Connections, Exploring Possibilities, Exceeding Limits, Performing with Passion” held at Subic Bay Travelers Hotel and Event Center last November 28-29, 2015.

The convention was attended by JPMAP members from other 9 Colleges and Universities namely: Central Mindanao College – Kidapawan, De La Salle University – Dasmariñas, Far Eastern University, Gordon College, La Consolacion College Tanauan, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, San Beda College Manila, University of the Philippines – Visayas, and University of Santo Tomas.

In competition with the schools mentioned above, the Ateneans won awards from four different competitions: JPMAP Got Talent – Champion: Viana Marie Rañeses, Michael John Macadangdang, Andrea Victoria Balinas, Andrei Vonn Baga; Mr. JPMAP 2015 – Winner: Jeos Earl Casilac with four special awards (People’s Choice Award, Best in Poise, Best in Theme Wear and Most Articulate); Ms. JPMAP2nd Runner Up: Marie Angelique Tabares with 4 special awards (People’s Choice Awards, Best in Theme Wear, Best in Formal Attire and Best in Poise); Quiz Bee – 1st Runner Up: Lady Kim Dela Peña, Alexandra Mitchelle Flauta, Charmaine Betarmos; Debate – 1st Runner Up: Bianca Camille Quimpo, James Paragili, Melzar Galicia.

The convention built bridges between other schools and encouraged interaction, fellowship, and camaraderie. The students were also able to learn from the speakers who shared their knowledge and expertise. Overall, the convention gave an opportunity for students to learn from the forum and showcase their skills in the said competitions.
