Ateneo high school students won first runner up in two major events in the PSYSC National Summit held at Philippines Women’s College last September 5 and 6, 2015.

Miles G. Madayag and Simon G. Chiew, both from 9-Xavier, and Piolo Ysidore S. Serrano of 10-Borgia won first runner up in the PSYSC Science Olympiad (PSO) National Eliminations for Regions XI and XII. The team, being one of the top 20, will be advancing to the PSO National Finals at UP-Diliman, Quezon City on September 26, 2015.

Also, Kyle Patrick C. Te of 10 – Kostka and Adrian Chester C. Caballero of 10 – Gonzaga also won first runner up in the MathSciAKa Engineering Challenge. In this competition, the participants made robots out of PET Bottles which were tested according to their mobility and speed of succeeding different courses.

The coaches were Mar Jhun Potane, Joan Sayago, Carmelli Montecillo and Edithally Joy Cagulada for the PSO; and Eleanor Corcino and Mar Jhun Potane for the MathSciAKa Engineering Challenge.

The PSYSC National Summit is an annual activity for science clubbers.
