At ADDU, we consider the City of Davao our extended classroom. After all, where else can you have the resources of the Mindanao's top tourist destination and leading financial, arts, cultural, sports, and entertainment choices at your doorstep? Dynamic and cosmopolitan, Davao City and the surrounding Davao Provinces and Davao Gulf are integral parts of the Davao experience, offering nature tourism, mountain adventure, internship, service learning, and volunteer opportunities to round out your Ateneo experience. So what shall it be, street dancing, white water rafting, concerts? How about the Kadayawan Festival celebration in August, the Araw ng Dabaw Parade in March, or the Musika del Sur gig? Maybe some dancing north at Damosa Gateway or the downtown's Venue or gimmick south at Matina Town Square (MTS) or Kanto Jazz Bar. Food, you, say? A cultural feast is yours on nearby Marco Polo Hotel and F. Torres street where a variety of ethnic cuisines await at Harana, Sarung Banggi, Kasagingan, Taps, or Cups and Lowercases. You can dine in Jack's Ridge in Matina Shrine Hills or at Cafe Andessa at Buhangin, or at Mamu's Restaurant at Bacaca Road. Have your delicious dessert at Aling Foping's at MTS Matina or Lachi's at Marfori Heights. And let's not forget pristine beaches in Samal Island (just 20 mins away from the University), the famous Pearl Farm Resort, Paradise Island. Visit also other landmarks such as the Taboan in MTS, or People's Park, Philippine Eagle Center, Davao Crocodile Park and for those of you who feel like driving, the Eden Nature Park Mountain Resort in Toril, just an hour away. A cultural tour can be a good Davao experience by visiting the Davao Museum (Tel 63-82 233.1734). For more information about our magnificent city, check out the Davao City Government website.
